Are chem trails real? Is the world really getting warmer? are we coming to an end?
All these are valid questions, for which I will not give you an answer nor my opinion.
All these are out of my control, and probably just buzz words to get people fighting, I do not fall for that.
I have thought about Globalization this week specially after learning about the closure of the Lufthansa in Touch office in Peterborough, the lack of rain for my plants, and the constant weather warnings.
It is a reality that our world is more and more ruled by Global money & politics and slowly forgetting the individual person, the local culture, the local economy and the care of the land.
The effects of this have been slowly creeping in for at least 16 years, I was in high school the first time I heard this word (and I’m getting old, that’s how long I’ve been out of high school :) and the effects in the last 5 have made an explosion, and the necessity to deal with its impact is eminent.
Here a list of 5 ways you may be feeling the impact, and 5 ways you can transform that negative energy into a positive one:
5 ways we feel the negative impact of the glbahad on our society:
Depression and suicide rates are so high; high enough that the canadian doctors now can prescribe medical assistance in dying (killing people with doctor prescribed medicine) for pretty much anyone at any age.
Global businesses are being forced to shut down, because it is easier to replace human work with robots (AI).
Environmental impact of large concrete buildings, and big cities is being felt across the world, and the bees are in decline.
We all need to clean our fruits and veggies because they all come with a nice coating of pesticides and chemicals that disrupt our hormonal balance.
Our meat is filled with hormones and plant base chemically filled patties are on the rise. Chemicals are everywhere.
5 things we can do to start healing from the impact:
Dance more, and if you don’t dance, move in any way you prefer. Movement produces endorphins which produce the feeling of happiness, move daily, move with people (for the oxytocin) and move outside (for the vitamin d).
Create anything, don’t become a consumer only. In the fast paced world that we live in, we need to understand the environmental impact of our over consumption habits. You do not need much to be happy, stop buying things you do not need. As you stop purchasing garbage try to create your own things and find the joy in the creative process, don’t focus in the potentially failed result. You might surprise yourself and create your own job in the process. Just create something you enjoy and love.
Learn to plant a garden or a house plant or a tomato plant. Any green you add to your life, helps. Why? Because plant’s clean our air, protect us from the toxins lingering around, plants are where medicine and food come from, so why not learn to use and grow them.
Don’t forget to enter this month’s gardening contest by this weekend!
And come learn all about the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem at the Monarch Festival this September 20th.
Purchase as much as you can from local vendors. The fruit and veggies that travel the least should take priority on your plate, less preservatives needed. Local shops with pre-loved items are an excellent place to find your next pieces of clothing that will not continue to feed the overconsumption monster we have created in our oceans and landfills.
A couple of my favourite pre-loved items shopping are found on instagram under the handles: @shopmoncoquelicot @booksaroundthecornershop @cozy_homegoodsandgiftshoppe
Try to find local vendors for meat, or meat where you know is a little more loved that the massive farms with plenty of hormones. Be conscious of what you eat, and pray over the food you can’t be sure of where it came from, we can only try so hard in this economy :p
So now, go off, make the world a better place, more human less robotic.
LOVE above all.
Love your people, love the people that is not your people too.
Love your home, and the land that you live in.
Love your city and the people in it.
